My husband got this product for me for my birthday and I have only had it for 2 months and used it a total of 7 times. The front stabilizing bar tore away compleatly while I was using it. the unit tipped over onto me after that happened. It looks like the weld failed on the unit. i only weigh 180 pounds and I was just trying to get fit. Now the company is refusing to help me or do anything about the defective product I got. I reccomend not getting anything from this company due to shotty craftsmanship. You might end up injured too.

I didn't buy this elliptical from amazon; nonetheless, I've had the Weslo 745 elliptical for about a year.

I had a different model Weslo elliptical which I liked far more better, but it broke after just a year. (The front stablizing base broke twice... mostly due to the poor welding quality & vigorous use)

Since the first week when I got this 745 Weslo elliptical, the front bar whereas the arm handles connect to the front stabilizing bar was becoming loose. So, when I workout with moderately quick or quick strides, it is quite noisy. (And I tried oiling/WD-40/greasing it up... doesn't work! Further, I constantly mallet the end stoppers, but they still come loose.) If I just blast my ipod, I can ignore the noise from the poor construction yet I can't ignore the slight feeling of instability from loose parts.

The welding on the whole machine & parts is absolutely horrible!
(A great welding job should look at least like a roll of dimes on the corners/edges where metal meets, but this welding job looks like a thin line of bird droppings! This terrible welding can be found on all Weslo ellipticals, not just this model!--that's a big reason why they are not durable).

It was okay to assemble. For the most part, I did it by myself (by the way, I'm a girl); however, sometimes I got some help (by a male). The assembly was not bad, but the instructions and steps weren't as clear as when I assembled other exercise machines!

I still workout quite often with it and try my best to overlook it's many imperfections. On a different note, the appearance of the elliptical is decent and so is the space it takes up. Also, another reason that's actually good about this elliptical is the stride length (17.5"); I hate ellipticals with short stride lengths, so this machine stride length is nice!

Overall, if you really are on a tight budget and are in the market for a short-lived machine (less than 1-3 years), it's okay to buy this or any other Weslo brand elliptical.

But honestly, I recommend spending more money and buying a more durable elliptical. You will save a lot more money in the long run (not to mention, a lot more inches on your figure may be saved too because I've gotten better workouts on different higher-end ellipticals)

Weslo is an economical brand yet it is definitely not a high-quality brand!

I recently got this elliptical. I chose this one after researching other models and websites for hours. When it got here the box was in shambles, but when I opened it everything was ok. The directions tell you it is a two person job and it most definitly is, but i was able to put it together alone and i'm a girl-so there!! The machine is extremely sturdy and well engineered. It has great balance as well. The unit is a big large and is very heavy. My only complaint is that the caps on the machine are popping off after a week of use. Over all this is a great investment at a great price. You will definitly want to use it.
-Nicole (Ft Lauderdale)
